HIS PLANS

Verse:

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11

Devotion:

Does your life sometimes make no sense? Stuff happens that definitely is not what you had planned. I was thinking about life in general. Wondering how my future is going to be. Will I have kids? Will I have my job? Will I have good health? I turned on the TV and my favorite preacher was speaking that God always has a long range plan for us. No matter how bad your current situation is, the good news is, it’s gonna get better. On the other hand, no matter how good your current situation is, it’s gonna get better. His plans are way better than ours. His plans are bigger than our past. Nothing can stop God’s plan for our life. The best thing is that we are a part of His plan. If God revealed His plan to us, it would just boggle our mind. God can surprise us with His plan. Are we willing to walk in His plan or give up?

FATHER & ME

Verse:

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! - Matthew 7:11

Devotion:

I was lying on my bed last night and weeping and weeping and weeping because my prayer weren’t getting answered. God reminded me how a little child when the father doesn’t give him that sharp knife when he asks, the child weeps and weeps and weeps. The father knows that the knife will hurt the child. The father knows what is good for the child. The Father knows how to look after his child. He knows the child's body. The father knows that the child needs to grow up. The father knows that it's not the time for him to have it yet. God reminded me that I'm a child and He is a Father. How much more God, the Father would know about this suborn child - me. He doesn’t give me what I ask Him coz clearly He knows that it's not the right time for me to have it. He knows what is best for me. He knows my future. He knows what to give and what not to give. The Father also knows the time to give. God doesn’t give me what I ask for coz He clearly knows what He is doing. After all HE is GOD!

ONLY PRAISE

Verse:

“Because she loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue her; I will protect her, for she acknowledges My name. She will call on me, and I will answer her; I will be with her in trouble, I will deliver her and honor her. With long life I will satisfy her and show her my salvation.” - Psalm 91:14-16

Devotion:

I have read Psalm 91 many times, only today I got to know how personalizing can make so much sense. Past few months I have been asking God to provide me many things, but this month, I'm claiming His promises. I have stopped asking Him for things. Coz this month is gonna be PRAISE month. I want to give Him all the glory and honor even before He fulfills my promises. So no asking, only praising!

OUTSIDE THE TENT

Verse:

Then the LORD took him outside. "Look up at the sky and count the stars—if you can!" he said. "Your descendants will be that numerous." - Genesis 15:5

Devotion:

Solomon loves to play football. Every time he tells me he is going to play, I'm down with pity party. Thoughts on my mind goes, "This is not fair, I do all the house work and the cleaning and he happily goes off to play. I'm stuck here in the house." This reminds me of what I heard about Abraham. He was stuck inside his tent. When God promised to give him a child, he looked at his circumstance and wondered if it could happen in his old age. God brought Him outside the tent and asked him to LOOK OUTSIDE his tent and count the stars. Sometimes we need to get outside our tent. Get some new prospective. Go somewhere, get by yourself. Do a little dreaming. Get a little vision. You cant stay in the same old problem year after year. I needed to get out of my tent. Give up pity party. I'm ready to get on the pity fast for this year. Are you looking inside or outside your tent?
