DIY - STRING OF PICTURES

If you know me well, you know how much I love to take pics. That's cause I would like to cherish every moment of life. Recollect good memories and learn lessons from the not so good ones. Every now and then I go through my Picture Library, which reminds me of God's goodness.

Well, this anniversary I made String of pictures for my husband by collecting memories of our past 2 years together. Here is how you can do-it-yourself (DIY).

1. Collect all your favorite the pictures of both of you together. Make an folder and make sure you arrange in chronological order. (Day 1 till now).

2. Take print outs of these and arrange them according to the order that you want to display. Make sure you leave few inches above the picture so that you can use it to hang on the string.

3. Take a ribbon/string and stick few of these pictures to so that you hang them in row one below the other.

4. Hang it on the wall one below the other and decorate it with few Christmas lights.

Surprise your partner by putting off all the lights in the middle of the night like I did :)

DIY - COUPLE TEE (Printed version)

I'm super fascinated about Couple tees. So for our anniversary I custom made it and gifted it to my husband. You can do one too for your partner. Here's how to Do-It-Yourself (DIY).

1. Buy 2 plain white t-shirts, one for your partner and the other for you. It should be plain in the middle area both front and back. The sleeves is up-to you, you can ether have it printed or plain. I picked mine from Reliance Trends.

2. Customize your design for the front part. I designed "To infinity" on guys tee shirt and "and beyond" on girls tee shirt. I used Photoshop like shown below:

3. Customize your design for the back part. I designed "Together 20" on guys tee shirt and "Since 14" on girls tee shirt. Shown below:

4. Get both these printed in any printing shops. Match it with your favorite pants and shoes. You are good to go.

5. Now you are all set to flaunt and take some candid pictures.

Hope you liked them :)

DIY- 3 AFFORDABLE ANNIVERSARY GIFT IDEAS

Solomon and I celebrated our 2nd anniversary, yaaay!...So this time I decided to do something handmade. Expressing your love in the form of a gift can be tricky. The best (and fortunately most affordable) way to show your partner how much you care about him/her is by taking the time to think of and create a homemade anniversary gift. While some people like to stick with more traditional gifts for their wedding anniversary, these anniversary gifts are perfect for every year. Take the time to show your love with these creative DIY anniversary gifts.

Here are 3 anniversary gifts that I made:

1. Couple Tee shirts

You can make a cute customized couple t-shits which reads like this:

TO INFINITY AND BEYOND
TOGETHER SINCE 2014

Tutorial to make these tees here

2. String of pictures

I collected all the pictures we had taken together for the past 2 years and made a sting of pictures on the wall. Few serial lights would do the magic.

Tutorial to make this string here

3. Wall frame

Here is the easiest. Get few statistics of your anniversary. Calculate the number of days, months, years... and get a printout done and frame it:

2 Years, 24 months, 104 weeks, 730 days, 17,527 hours, 1,051,620 minutes, 63,097,200 seconds, and life time to go...

Tutorial to make Wall Frame here

Hope this helps. Let me know if you have some ideas for my next anniversary :)

HIS PLANS

Verse:

For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. - Jeremiah 29:11

Devotion:

Does your life sometimes make no sense? Stuff happens that definitely is not what you had planned. I was thinking about life in general. Wondering how my future is going to be. Will I have kids? Will I have my job? Will I have good health? I turned on the TV and my favorite preacher was speaking that God always has a long range plan for us. No matter how bad your current situation is, the good news is, it’s gonna get better. On the other hand, no matter how good your current situation is, it’s gonna get better. His plans are way better than ours. His plans are bigger than our past. Nothing can stop God’s plan for our life. The best thing is that we are a part of His plan. If God revealed His plan to us, it would just boggle our mind. God can surprise us with His plan. Are we willing to walk in His plan or give up?

FATHER & ME

Verse:

If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him! - Matthew 7:11

Devotion:

I was lying on my bed last night and weeping and weeping and weeping because my prayer weren’t getting answered. God reminded me how a little child when the father doesn’t give him that sharp knife when he asks, the child weeps and weeps and weeps. The father knows that the knife will hurt the child. The father knows what is good for the child. The Father knows how to look after his child. He knows the child's body. The father knows that the child needs to grow up. The father knows that it's not the time for him to have it yet. God reminded me that I'm a child and He is a Father. How much more God, the Father would know about this suborn child - me. He doesn’t give me what I ask Him coz clearly He knows that it's not the right time for me to have it. He knows what is best for me. He knows my future. He knows what to give and what not to give. The Father also knows the time to give. God doesn’t give me what I ask for coz He clearly knows what He is doing. After all HE is GOD!

ONLY PRAISE

Verse:

“Because she loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue her; I will protect her, for she acknowledges My name. She will call on me, and I will answer her; I will be with her in trouble, I will deliver her and honor her. With long life I will satisfy her and show her my salvation.” - Psalm 91:14-16

Devotion:

I have read Psalm 91 many times, only today I got to know how personalizing can make so much sense. Past few months I have been asking God to provide me many things, but this month, I'm claiming His promises. I have stopped asking Him for things. Coz this month is gonna be PRAISE month. I want to give Him all the glory and honor even before He fulfills my promises. So no asking, only praising!

OUTSIDE THE TENT

Verse:

Then the LORD took him outside. "Look up at the sky and count the stars—if you can!" he said. "Your descendants will be that numerous." - Genesis 15:5

Devotion:

Solomon loves to play football. Every time he tells me he is going to play, I'm down with pity party. Thoughts on my mind goes, "This is not fair, I do all the house work and the cleaning and he happily goes off to play. I'm stuck here in the house." This reminds me of what I heard about Abraham. He was stuck inside his tent. When God promised to give him a child, he looked at his circumstance and wondered if it could happen in his old age. God brought Him outside the tent and asked him to LOOK OUTSIDE his tent and count the stars. Sometimes we need to get outside our tent. Get some new prospective. Go somewhere, get by yourself. Do a little dreaming. Get a little vision. You cant stay in the same old problem year after year. I needed to get out of my tent. Give up pity party. I'm ready to get on the pity fast for this year. Are you looking inside or outside your tent?

FAITH + PATIENCE = PROMISE

Beginning of this year, I received a promise from God. I thought the promise would be fulfilled in January, but nothing happened. I waited for February, March, April….and so on…and now it’s almost September, there is no sign of the promise! I started wring down my frustrated feelings in my journal. I was being honest. "God, it’s been 8 long months of waiting, I am disappointed. Why aren’t my prayers being answered? I have been hoping, trusting and believing you for this promise and nothing seems to happen. Is something wrong with me? Please let me know. Is there anything in my life that is keeping me from receiving the promise? How long must I wait, God?" I have been battling with God to speak to me why His promises aren’t being fulfilled in my life.

I am so guilty of being impatient. I have probably asked the question, “How long must I wait,” so much that God wants to personally come down and tell me to hush child. I’m like the kid on a road trip that ask over and over, “how much longer” or “are we there yet!” Yes, I was that kid and I still am.

But, have you ever experienced such with waiting on God’s timing. Have you ever asked or wondered, God, how long must I wait?
How long must I wait until I get the job?
How long must I wait until I get married?
How long must I wait until my health takes a turn for the better?
How long must I wait until this storm passes?
How long must I wait for this miracle?

One verse that I was often being reminded was from Hebrews 6:12 that reads “…through faith and patience we inherit the promises.” Yesterday, I heard 2 sermons and the preacher quoted the exact same verse in both the sermons. I began to meditate on it. It came to me afresh. I knew that God was trying to speak to me through this verse. God wanted to teach me faith and patience. I so need faith and patience to wait for God’s timing.

4 KEY THINGS TO PONDER

FAITH
Faith is all about believing, you don’t know how it will happen, but you know it will. Faith, it seems, does not operate only in the realm of the immediate, the here and now. In fact, the faith that the Bible often highlights and celebrates is the faith that has to wait – yet keep believing.

PATIENCE
Patience is not the ability to wait, but the ability to keep a good attitude while waiting. Patience grows when we patiently wait. Hebrews 6:15 – “after he patiently endured, he obtained the promise.” Key words here – patiently endured. The promise didn’t come immediately, it took time.

NOT GIVE UP
If we give up, we break the promise. Galatians 6:9 –Your prayer request will manifest at the right time, “if” you will be patient AND not give up while you continue going about the Lords business. While you are taking care of His business, behind the scenes He’s taking care of your business.

TIMING
Lastly, Habakkuk 2:3 also encourages us to wait for God’s timing: “For still the vision awaits its appointed time; it hastens to the end—it will not lie. If it seems slow, wait for it; it will surely come; it will not delay.”

I believe the promise will surely come to pass in His time when we trust Him with faith and patience. For He who has promised is faithful even till the end!!!
