WHY I BLOG

When I was 9, I cried in a bathroom because my relatives told that I was dark and my sister was fair. So I was insecure about my skin color.

At 12, I hid under the cot since I had a big nose. So I wouldn't like to meet the guests at who came home.

At 14, I cringed when we had to take class photos during school picnic because I was short and thought I was ugly. So I hid my picture.

At 20, I cried when that boy broke my heart because he met a prettier girl. So I felt nobody would ever like me and I would never get married.

At 22, I when everyone had their ministry, I was depressed that I couldn't preach or sing like my dad or sister did.

At 24, I realized that I had spent the first two decades of my life believing the lie that I needed to be perfect. Clean, crisp and poised. So I did all I could to hide my messes. My insecurities. My doubt. My discouragement.

But the truth is that I always felt out of place. I felt too messy and awkward and ugly.

And that's half the reason why my blog has messy and unusual stories. But the truth is that it's a sanctuary for me, where I can pour out my heart before God. A place where I can drop the filters and be the sad little girl that hid in a bathroom. Except there's no hiding under the cot, no comparison, no judgment, no holding back. It's me, my heart poured out in every color, scratch, and squiggle. Because I had found comfort and confidence in one place alone - at Jesus' feet. And today, it's still the only place I'm free to drop the filters, to feel imperfect and ugly without wanting to hide, and free to be messy with a God who adores every ounce of me. And my out-pour on the page is out of my own experiences. It is to encourage you that there is hope in Christ alone.

God has turned my mess into a message. It's true for you, too. So if you're feeling fat, short or ugly or heartbroken or discouraged or messed up: that's okay. There is HOPE!

Your greatest testimony is that you went through fire but you don't smell like smoke!

OPEN LETTER TO MILEY CYRUS

Genuinely the most refreshing thing I’ve read on this subject. Especially the more unusual Christian response of not preaching scripture for once. The world needs more Christians demonstrating love like this. I'm so touched by this letter so sharing it here.

I think This Is What Jesus Would Do ….

An open letter to Miley Cyrus from Pastor Jarrid Wilson below:

Dear Miley Cyrus,

I first want to say how sorry I am for the way Christians are treating you, tweeting you, and hypocritically judging you for your performance at the VMA’s. While most of the world sits back and wonders “What the heck happened to Miley?” I personally wonder, “What’s going on in Miley’s heart?”

I cannot say I enjoyed your performance, but I can say I my heart breaks for you, your future, and your identity as a woman.
There are so many things I don’t know about you, but something tells me that you are going through more than you are willing to share with the people around you. I can’t imagine being surrounded by the paparazzi 24/7, living in the shadow of your dad, and constantly being asked, “What happened to that sweet girl from Hannah Montana?”

I get it, you’re an adult now. You don’t want to be forever viewed as the Child-Star from Disney Channel. But I can promise you that this isn’t the way to break that mold.

A Few Things:
1. You deserve to be respected.
2. You deserve to be treated like a lady.
3. You deserve a man who will treat you with honor.

But the current lifestyle you are living will make it very hard for you to find any of these things. I say this because I care about you, even though I have never met you. You have a platform that is beyond grasp, and I believe your potential to use it for good is unmeasurable.
I’m not going throw any scripture at you. I’m not going to tell you how wrong you are. And I’m not going to tell you that you need Jesus.

Why?

Because frankly, I think you already know all of these things.
You’re a smart girl who has found herself caught up in the world of entertainment. I assume it’s rough. I can’t imagine being constantly surrounded by drugs, sex and alcohol. And I can’t imagine the peer pressure you must feel from labels, managers, and other artists around the world pressuring you to be something you’re not.

I’m here to tell you: YOU DON’T NEED TO LISTEN TO THEM. You are allowed to make your own decisions, and quite frankly this might be the first time anyone has ever told you that.
Regardless of what the tabloids say, my wife and I still believe in you, and will always show an open hand of grace and second chances.

-Jarrid Wilson

TOO MUCH TO BEAR

"How do you know when how much is too much? Too much too soon. Too much information. Too much fun. Too much love. Too much to ask... And when is it all just too much to bear?"

Here again I have ripped my own heart
Unbearable pain from the sharp dart
Got up to leave but just right fell in
Bruised and shattered deep within
…And when it’s too much too bear

Guilt stricken, disturbed with heavy load
Tears crash onto the floor of life’s road
Enduring this war of continuous regrets
Negative voices have become my threats
…And when it’s too much too bear

Groping in the dark to find a ray of hope
I rage in frustration beyond I can cope
I can hardly breathe; barely surviving
Trying so hard to escape from drowning
…And when it’s too much too bear

I’m not strong; I stumble when others run
Mostly all by myself; conversing with none
Millions of memories they rush and come
To that part of me which is dead and numb
…And when it’s too much too bear

And my heart cries, I wait for pain to melt
Surrendering all at the cross I have knelt
Gathering the pieces of my heart I bring
To You my Master, my Saviour, my King

…And when it’s too much too bear
He bears my burden

FAILURE

Go ahead. Fail. Just do it. Fall flat on your face. Let it happen. And hey! If you want, cry. Let it all out. But whatever you do, DON’T forget to get back up on your feet at sometime. And when you do, wipe all the mud and tears off your face and remember that you are that much stronger then before and that we ALL have to taste dirt at some point.

MIRACLES OUT OF MISTAKES

A negative past cannot disqualify you from a bright future

No mistake you have done is too much for the mercy of God

Self pity will keep you from what God's gonna do for you

God is not looking for perfect people, but someone who has a heart for God

God's calling are irrevocable, keep the faith

God always gives us anther chance

God is telling you I STILL have a plan for you

Nothing you have done in your past can disqualify you from the bright future God has for you

The debt has already been paid, receive God's mercy

God is not a fault finder

God,I blew it up but I need your help

God is not focused on your mistakes

You are the apple of God's eyes

Where you are is not a surprise to God

Nobody or nothing can stop you from what God has for you

God cleans up our mess since he sees our heart even though

Zep 3:19 God is gathering together the outcast and the limping ones

You take one step towards God He will come running towards you

Bird with a broken wing will fly twice as higher

FALLEN HARDER THAN THE FIRST TIME

This poem was written in a tough phase of my life, where there were some mountains that I was climbing, and i fell badly again n again. I realised that this time i had fallen harder than the first time.

Fallen deep into a pit again,
No words can explain the pain,
Broken trusts and shattered dreams
Talks are filled with loud screams
Can anyone feel my heart ache?
Its way more than I can take
Coz i had Fallen harder than the 1st time!

i climb the mountain all over again
When i fall down it goes in vain
i do the things i know it will hurt
All thought it’s just rot and dirt
i think of the things i need 2 4get
Wish i get the right priorities set
Coz i had Fallen harder than the 1st time!

All i need is Your strength n grace
To lift me up n help me run this race
Coz faith in U can move any mountain
Your word is so true and so certain
I’m grateful for Your second chance
Allthough i had fallen harder than the 1st time!
My God is still in control of this life of mine!

Don't look at the mountains but look up to the God who made the mountains!!! =)

THE UGLY PIT

I've kinda got myself back in the pit again lately. Oh, how I hate the pit. The place that I have been at many times before but I told myself I am never going to go back there again... I am in that place OVER AND OVER AND OVER AGAIN. So when is the day that I will learn from my mistakes and my past and completely finish this journey through the wilderness? Will that day be soon? The feeling and the pain of my bad choices should have been done and over with a long time ago. Even though it's not good that I have been making bad choices and I have lost my focus. God is dealing with me about that but I believe God will use this pain and this season for His good.

To remember where I was last year, and then the year before, alot has changed and I have learned alot. I lost focus of God, the more I realized how screwed up I am. That's a good thing in a way that I realized that I am nothing without God and I desperately need His help in EVERY aspect of my life. But sometimes when I get the realization that I am just totally screwed up, it can bring me down when I lose my focus on God, and it starts that self-hate cycle that I’m trying to overcome.

I just want to enjoy life and the journey. But I have to go through this season first. God's not going to let me give up and He's not going to take the hard things away in life that I have to deal with. I just have to stay super focused and keep my eyes on God and go through.

The most important lesson that I learned through this journey is that my strength is directly connected to my relationship with God. If I lose my focus and stop seeking Him, I lose my strength. The times that I lost that focus, I choose to sin and make wrong decisions. Another lesson that I learned is seeking things will never make you happy. Only the joy of the Lord will make us happy. How many times have I been tempted by my flesh telling me that if you get that certain thing/person, it will make me satisfied, happy, content, etc..... Never happens.

I'm tired of being a screwed up mess. I know that I need to give my mess to God and let Him fight my battles for me. Just why is that so hard for my prideful self to do? Or, after I let the Lord fight a battle for me, I slowly take it back because now I think I can handle it on my own. It's like, ok thanks God, but now I can take care of it from here... And then I get myself back into the same hole that I came from. And that same hole is where I’m at now...I give up God… I give up handling things on my own! Please take control God!

ALONE

“Some of us get quiet, go inside ourselves and guard against thoughts running on your mind. Others run through the storm, knocking on doors looking for help… I tend to go inside. I just need a little one on one time with myself and God to figure some things out. i  just need to be alone, i’ll be back.”

Stop, where am I?
Blank, I can’t cry
I need some space
No, this isn’t me

I’ll be fine I dont want to talk to anyone
I dont know what this is called
I need this space
I need this time, time to clear up my mind

Lord, Please don’t give up on me now
Yes, I see light and hope in You
Now, it’s so bright
when you Call my name

BEAUTY FROM PAIN

This song digs really deep whenever i listen to it, and am constantly reminded by the immensity of God's love for me. It lifts my spirit, and I pray it continues to touch the lives of others as it touches mine every time i listen to it. The video is awesome and the lyrics are too good.

The lights go out all around me
One last candle to keep out the night
And then the darkness surrounds me
I know I'm alive But I feel like I've died
And all that's left is to accept that it's over
My dreams ran like sand through the fists that I made
I try to keep warm but I just grow colder
I feel like I'm slipping away

After all this has passed
I still will remain
After I've cried my last
There'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today
Someday I'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pa
in

My whole world is the pain inside me
The best I can do is just get through the day
When life before is only a memory
I wonder why God lets me walk through this place
And though I can't understand why this happened
I know that I will when I look back someday
And see how you've brought beauty from ashes
And made me as gold purified through these flames

After all this has passed
I still will remain
After I've cried my last
There'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today
Someday I'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain

Here I am at the end of me
Trying to hold to what I can't see
I forgot how to hope
This night's been so long
I cling to your promise
There will be a dawn

After all this has passed
I still will remain
After I've cried my last
There'll be beauty from pain
Though it won't be today
Someday I'll hope again
And there'll be beauty from pain
You will bring beauty from my pain
