Here again I'm with my Easter / Lent season playlist on the Cross of our Lord Jesus Christ. Hope you are blessed 🤗
1. Thank you for the Cross - Bob Kauflin
Thank You for the cross, the mighty cross That God Himself should die for such as us And everyday we're changed into Your image, more and more Yes, by the cross we've truly been transformed
2. Lead me to the Cross - Brooke Fraser
Lead me to the cross where Your love poured out Bring me to my knees, Lord, I lay me down Rid me of myself, I belong to You Oh, lead me Lead me to the cross
3. Above all - Paul Baloche and Lenny LeBlanc
Crucified
Laid behind the stone
You lived to die
Rejected and alone
Like a rose trampled on the ground
You took the fall
And thought of me
Above all
4. At the Cross - Hillsong
At the cross I bow my knees
Where Your blood was shed for me
There's no greater love than this
You have overcome the grave
Glory fills the highest place
What can separate me now
5. Via Dolorosa - Sandi Patty
Down the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem that day
The soldiers tried to clear the narrow street
But the crowd pressed into see
the man condemned to die on Calvary.
He was bleeding from a beating
there were stripes upon His back
And He wore a crown of thorns upon his head
And He bore with every step
the scorn of those who cried out for his death
6. Worthy Is The Lamb - Hillsong
Thank You for the cross, Lord;
Thank You for the price You paid;
Bearing all my sin and shame,
In love You came,
And gave amazing grace.
Thank You for this love, Lord;
Thank You for the nail-pierced hands;
Washed me in Your cleansing flow,
Now all I know
Your forgiveness and embrace.
7. Once Again - Matt Redman
And once again I look upon the cross where you died
This is my latest favorite song. I have been listening to it a hundred billion times. I'm in love with the lyrics. Hope it blesses you as it blessed me.
God of creation
There at the start
Before the beginning of time
With no point of reference
You spoke to the dark
And fleshed out the wonder of light
And as You speak
A hundred billion galaxies are born
In the vapor of Your breath, the planets form
If the stars were made to worship so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You’ve made
Every burning star
A signal fire of grace
If creation sings Your praises so will I
God of Your promise
You don’t speak in vain
No syllable empty or void
For once You have spoken
All nature and science
Follow the sound of Your voice
And as You speak
A hundred billion creatures catch Your breath
Evolving in pursuit of what You said
If it all reveals Your nature so will I
I can see Your heart in everything You say
Every painted sky
A canvas of Your grace
If creation still obeys You so will I
If the stars were made to worship so will I
If the mountains bow in reverence so will I
If the oceans roar Your greatness so will I
For if everything exists to lift You high so will I
We all have desires in our heart. Some of us are still waiting on those desires to be fulfilled. When the season of waiting becomes long, it’s easy to lose hope. But how do we strengthen ourselves and delight in Him in this season of waiting? Delighting is an action of taking great pleasure in Him, to please Him or to be His pleasure. Here is something that encouraged me while studying on this verse.
Look up these scriptures below and begin to familiarize yourself with them. Highlight them, write them in your journal, pray them, but mostly get them in your heart! And He will give you the desires of your heart!
WAYS TO DELIGHT YOURSELF IN THE LORD
Doing His will
I delight to do Your will, O my God, And Your law is within my heart. Psalm 40:8 Meditating on scriptures
Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful; But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. Psalm 1:1-2
Being honest
Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord, but those who deal truthfully are His delight. Proverbs 12:22
Obedience
So Samuel said: Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, As in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, And to heed than the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22
Prayer
The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, But the prayer of the upright is His delight. Proverbs 15:8
Loving His Word
I will delight myself in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word. Your testimonies also are my delight And my counselors. Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, For I delight in it. And I will delight myself in Your commandments, Which I love. Let Your tender mercies come to me, that I may live; For Your law is my delight. Psalm 119:16, 24, 35, 47, 77
Most of all, we delight in Him because we love Him. And through the process of delighting ourselves in the Lord, we see that He delights in us!
My health may fail, and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever. Psalm 73:26
Devotion:
Off-late I have been having issues with my health. I had been to the Doctor yesterday and got bad reports again. Yes, I was heart broken and cried all night. I woke up in the morning and this verse came to my mind. Even though my health has failed and my spirit has grown weak, I can boldly say God is the strength of my heart right now. If not for God I would never be able to get over this storm. As the psalmist said, weeping may last for a night but joy comes in the morning. I woke up, dressed up and showed up at work. He is my strength when I am weak!
Song:
This song spoke right through my heart this week. It's called, "Made me glad" by Hillsong. Few lines from the song:
Whom have I in heaven but You
There's none I desire beside You
For You have made me glad, and I'll say of the Lord
Currently I'm super obsessed with this song. It has just touched my heart like no other song that I have heard off late. This song can just lift your spirit up. No matter what you are facing today, may you feel the presence of God when you hear it. This song has been inspired from Matthew 14:25-33 where Jesus asks Peter to walk on the water.
There are a couple things I get from this story. The first is that Peter had the faith and trust in God to walk out on the water… Wow! That is scary and intimidating and unknown. And of course he walked out into a storm. It was windy and the waves were coming from all directions, but he still decided to take a step of faith trusting that God was going to guide his steps.
It was one of those days when everything went wrong. I was super depressed and down. I felt like I was walking into something scary, intimidating, and unknown. So I had to trust God with all my heart and know that He was going to take care of me along the way. Are you taking a step of faith towards God’s will for your life? Are you trusting him as you walk on the uneven water?
The second thing I get from this story is that when Peter walked amongst the waves and the wind, for a split second, he lost sight of Jesus. He lost sight of the one who was keeping him above the waves, and that is the moment he started sinking. But as soon as Jesus came back into Peter’s vision, Peter was lifted to the place of calm and security again. Are you keeping your eyes on Jesus? Are you keeping your gaze above the waves? If this is true in your life, then your perspective should be shifted. You are no longer focused on the scary-intimidating-unknown around you, but you are focused on the firm foundation of Jesus Christ.
Put yourself in Peter’s situation… ask yourself some hard questions… and take a listen to this song…
